SWAP Working Holidays

A non-profit program of the Canadian Federation of Students that offers young Canadians a truly unique opportunity to explore the world through work and travel. On a SWAP program, you have the chance to live and breathe another culture from the inside rather than simply passing through as a tourist.

Established in 1975, SWAP Working Holidays assists Canadian students and youth in arranging a working holiday to various destinations. SWAP currently offers working holiday programs to the United Kingdom, Ireland, Austria, Germany, France, Australia, New Zealand, USA, Japan, and South Africa as well as Teach programs in Thailand and China.

What We Do

SWAP not only gets you the Work Visa, but once in your destination, we offer support services for the full duration of your stay. SWAP provides you with the resources you’ll need to find work and live in your destination country. When you arrive in the country you’ll attend an orientation at our partners hosting centre. The staff will go over how to find work and accommodation, employment and tax laws, what format your resume should be in, assistance in opening a bank account, obtaining a tax file number, and much more. You will have access to up to date job postings, as well as computers, Internet, fax, machines, printers, and phones to assist you in your search. Our staff are there to provide support and guidance every step of the way!
